Charles McGaughey, former Roachdale resident and prominent Greencastle attorney, died suddenly from a heart attack at this home in Greencastle about noon Wednesday of last week. Mr. McGaughey was well known in this community. He was elected Mayor of Greencastle in 1926 and was president of the Citizens National Bank of Greencastle. He was a member of the Christian church of Greencastle. He served as secretary of the Greencastle Chamber of Commerce. He was a charter member of the Greencastle Rotary Club and had also served as president and secretary of that association. He was a member of the Roachdale lodge No. 602, F. & A.M. He is survived by the widow, a daughter Miss. Helen McGaughey and a brother Rev. G. S. McGaughey, and a sister, Minnie Call, both of Roachdale    --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker who so graciously donated her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated!!
